That’s my new secret (came up with this last night).

If life is going to screw you over (and in my case, it already has – again and again), well do everything you shouldn’t be doing. Not that it will hurt any less, but the logic is – NOW you won’t be asking ‘ WHY ME? ’ and THAT appeals to me.

If you haven’t done anything wrong and still end up getting screwed – in addition to the hurt, you have this question hitting at you all the time – what did I do to deserve this?

The first step is Acceptance. No, not accepting that you made a mistake, but accepting that you will get fucked, no matter what you do or don’t do. Shit WILL happen. You WILL suffer even if you haven’t done anything do deserve it.

Now, I am not saying that when this happens you won’t be hurt or it won’t bother you. Sure it will. But instead of mourning and banging your head asking ‘ WHY ME ? ’ – now you just might have a hint of a smile and your head will be saying ‘ You had it coming ’.

Total crap. Complete waste of time. What the hell happened to Maximilan Kohler??! The most interesting character in the story (in the book) doesn’t even exist in the movie? WTF!

Ron Howard – Imbecile, Idiot. Religion is flawed because man is flawed. This movie is flawed because you and your crew didn’t bother to read the bloody book! Was this movie supposed to be based on the book or someone’s cheap abridged version of the book?

Why isn’t Robert in the chopper when camerlengo is flying off with the antimatter!? What the hell is wrong with you guys. THIS is how it was supposed to be:

Nokia N97

There was a time when I was thinking of giving this one a shot. At the time, there really wasn’t anything interesting enough in the upcoming models.

I was fine with the E71 (still am), but then, need something new (unfortunately nothing from Sony Ericsson seems to be worth trying, and I find that extremely disappointing. I was a SE loyalist and the P series was absolutely amazing. The Xperia is a piece of crap).

That was when I thought the N97 would be worth trying out. But by the time N97 was due to be released, there were rumours about the E72 (with optical navigation pad). I decided to wait for a while and once the E72 was confirmed, the N97 didn’t seem that interesting.

Was just going through and wondering while I wait for the E72, may be I could just have a go at the N97 after all. (I am pissed off, upset, bored – well you get the point. I need to keep doing something otherwise my head keeps coming up with shitty thoughts. Either I should keep myself busy, or get drunk and / or stoned. Otherwise someone is really going to get hurt).

That’s when I looked at the N97 properly. Now will someone at Nokia please bother to explain what the hell were they thinking when they decided to put the bloody space bar in the right hand corner? I mean.. COME ON!

Suggestion, how about surrounding the barracks with a ring of fire. Will keep the animals away and the soldiers warm as well. And whenever they see one of these stupid research scientists – they could dump one of them into the bloody flames.

Re-reading another old book. Some books are interesting enough even though you have already read them. This one is a medical thriller and happens to be one of my favourites by Tess.

Besides it’s too hot to go outside. Waiting for the sun to go down and then might head off to the beach. The water looks beautiful in the dark.

Dexter – Season 4

New season starts on September 27th. Can’t wait. First 3 Seasons were amazing and I am sure it will continue in Season 4 as well. There hasn’t been a better show (my view).

Aaarrghh.. Actually I feel like going on a killing spree myself. Really need to kill a few people. It’s not enough that they die - I HAVE TO KILL THEM MYSELF. Seems like god is a bit too busy attending to more important things. I am sure he would be happy if I could help out.

Hmm interesting. Apparently my views aren't that unpopular after all.

Have spoken about this before as well (It's Just Sex). Two consenting adults enter into an agreement. One doesn't mind paying for the service, the other doesn't mind providing the service. How the hell is this anyone else's concern!

It would be different if they were entering into an agreement to smuggle something or to kill someone or... well you get my point. But prostitution can not be considered along the same lines.

Personally, I think it's sad if anyone has to pay to get laid. I might frown at it, but that doesn't mean that it should be illegal. I frown upon Aishwarya Rai's pathetic attempts at acting. That doesn't mean that her acting in films should be considered a criminal offence! (ok, bad example.. I really wish it WAS a criminal offence to cast Aishwarya in a movie).

Regardless of what I wish for, doesn't mean that it should be enforced / implemented by superseding basic logic.

A friend once reminded me – The most significant difference between sex for free and paying for sex is – Paying for sex, actually costs less. :)

Reiterating - I still think it's pathetic for anyone to pay for getting laid, but that is not reason enough for it to be illegal.

Seems like a good approach. Might end up with nothing actually happening, but at least the idea is cool.

Someone left a comment on the blog and asked me to check out the forum.

Registered - logged in. Not bad. Really liked the titles of the sub-boards/forums - News You Can Use, Hangout Corner. Check it out when you guys have time. Useful stuff.

My initial view – it was a bit overwhelming - cluttered. But I guess it just takes a while to get used to it. Perhaps a little less number of threads displayed on each page. May be grouping some Boards and putting them as sub boards under one Board.

Let me try to illustrate this. Have one Board – REVIEWS. Under that you can have sub-boards – Movies / Books / Games / Cell Phones – whatever. Now, if someone puts up a review for a movie – then that thread continues, instead of three people putting up the review for the same movie in three different threads, simply because – they didn’t know that a thread already existed.

If you just put up a thread with the name of the movie under Hangout Corner, it would definitely be lost sooner with all the other threads on different topics coming up. Just a suggestion - what the hell do I know.

Would be nice if they had the option for Quick Reply. Guess the administrator would be working on that.

Intentions seem similar (pissed off with one of the other similar forum(s) ) to the ones that lead me and my friends to start off our own forum – Taste Of Freedom. That was a while back. Well our forum did well. Had good members, had a fun time. If it weren’t for some pathetic characters, we wouldn’t have had to put up restrictions and make it members only.

Members only – as in – we ended up accepting only the people we knew. Which was basically a mistake (thinking about it now). What happened was – well – familiarity breeds contempt. Some of the members got bored, many got offended by something or someone. Hell I myself had left the forum once.

Now it’s just a few of us who are left on the forum. It’s not what it used to be. The posts still continue in the members only area. Thinking of taking off the restrictions and making it all open to everyone. But then, it’s a bit too late in the day for that to be making any difference.

Hope Q8NRI doesn’t end up going through all that. All the best to you guys. Great start.

Weeds - Season 5

Boring.

Guess the script writers have started smoking up themselves. Done with the first two episodes and the show sucks now. The show isn’t cool or funny anymore. Kill it.

I didn’t watch the whole thing. Just not  paced to my liking. Action sequences are ok to watch, but they get repetitive. I would have watched the entire movie if it didn’t drag on so much.   

The chinky idiot who screams and shatters glass (to be honest, I found that hilarious)– that was when it got confirmed that I wouldn’t be enjoying this.

Dakota Fanning, did a good job with the crap she was given. Just one thing - Don’t really see why the character needed to be dressed like a street walker.

Chris Evans looked bored.

I do think this would make a reasonably good TV Show. As a movie – just not up to the mark (my view).

The Mentalist - Season 1

Done with Season 1.

No complaints, except for Robin Tunney, of course. Just find her so blaa. Don't mind any of the other characters. Amanda Righetti (Grace Van Pelt) is good to look at (my view).

I did have a problem with two episodes though. One would be - Russet Potatoes (Episode 18). A bit too far fetched. The other one - Blood Brothers (Episode 22). Seriously not happening. Really pushing it.

Out of 23 episodes, having only two which weren't exactly watchable - is not bad at all.

Haven't heard anything yet about Season 2. May be I am just not looking at the right places. Either ways, would really like for this series to continue.

Nokia E72

  

Hmm. E71 was perhaps one of the best phones Nokia ever came out with. Well it's really not that hard to choose, given that Nokia usually churns out rehashed crap. There are very few models from Nokia that are actually worth using. Now, could the E72 be better?

Some changes - Smaller Space Bar, Optical track pad - nice addition - THANKS! (navigation pad, joystick..whatever you want to call it). 5 MP Cam LED Flash, 3.5 mm Headphone Jack. Looking forward to getting this one. My plans of getting the N97 - chuck it. This one is definitely better.

My friend bought a Marlboro One Gold pack (it's new, I guess). So I tried one, it's like puffing air. I told him so. Then he turned the pack to the side and says - 'this one is special.. it's triple one - as in 1,1,1'

Reminded me of an incident when I was young.

We had gone to collect our 12th original mark sheets. I had to collect it for one of my friend as well (he didn't want to go to school, just to collect the mark sheet).

So me and my other friends collected the damn things and were standing outside the office - chit chatting among ourselves as to who would accompany me to visit PJ Abraham and scare the shit out of him (I had my baseball bat in the back pack I was carrying, about half of it jutting out. Really wasn't trying to hide it, anyways. Has more of an effect that way. Yes I did and still do have a problem with PJ Abraham. I am sure he has issues with me too).

Anyways, so I just happened to look at my friend's mark sheet. These have a 3 digit serial number printed on top (not the roll number). It read 667.

I was wondering who would have received the number of the beast. That's when it hit, it should be ME. So I turn up my mark sheet and sure as hell there it was right at the top - 666

Goodbye Janette – Harold Robbins

Reading Goodbye Janette, AGAIN! It’s one of the first novels I ever read and I love some of the phrases. e.g. I love you but you find new ways to hurt me.

Had this copy for about 20 years. Yeah, I got into reading novels when I was 8-9 years old. Was in relatively good condition so far. 

Lent the book to someone. She had it for about a year (I guess) and I seriously doubt she read it. The thing is, I got it back recently and the cover has come off and some pages too. Sucks but then – Shit happens, right.

Anyways, will get back to the book now.

Weeds - Season 4

Done with Season 4. Ended up watching the entire second half today. Have too much on my mind (stuff I can’t do shit about) and wanted to stop thinking. So just put up all the remaining episodes onto the playlist and kept watching.

Celia sucks. She makes the show crappy. Hate her. Every time she comes on screen, it’s like aarrghh.. not her again.

It’s not AS cool as it was when I started off with it. Kind of felt like it’s becoming Desperate Housewives – ish (no, I don’t like that show. I do like Eva Longoria, but I can’t stand the show).

Andy in love with Nancy! Seriously not happening. I mean, Andy is way too cool a character. Adding a love angle to that could seriously screw it up. In all likelihood it will mess up this character (well, it does fuck up real life – that’s for sure).

Doug Wilson being smitten by the Mexican chick, was kind of ok in the beginning but him being sad over her just didn’t go well with the character (for me, anyways). Getting her into states and then trying to make her LIKE HIM – really not happening. I like his ‘I don’t give a shit’ attitude better. At least that wasn’t completely lost.

The season ending with Nancy being pregnant, put together with all the crap I mentioned above, makes me wonder if I would really like Season 5. Hope the show goes back to being cool, soon.

Dogma

Watching Dogma. AGAIN (I’ve lost count). It’s a fun movie. Might be politically incorrect, frowned upon or whatever. I don’t care. Hardly any reason to get offended by a film. People just don’t get it. If your faith is shaken by a movie script, well you need to take a closer look at your faith NOT go ahead and sue the script writer or demand a ban. Ahh chuck it. People suck anyway. 

I think it’s a cool movie. Funny shit.

Find My IPhone – Works, But ..

Seemed like a really cool addition. It was confirmed that it works as well. And now, it’s confirmed that it can easily be turned off as well. Assuming the you haven’t set up a  pass-code, whoever ends up with your IPhone can simply turn off the Location Services from the General Settings. Another way is to turn off the Find My IPhone feature from the MobileMe settings.

Echelon Conspiracy

Not exactly an original idea, now is it? Doesn’t really offer anything new (except for the sms tone, I guess). Many people call it a propaganda film. To be honest – I couldn’t care less.

Tamara Feldman is good to look at. But .. err.. the character was completely pointless. Could have done without it too (though I am glad they didn’t, I am just saying that they could).

Might have made a good tele / mini-series. Probably would have made an awesome plot a long long time ago (in a galaxy far far away). But definitely a bit stale for 2009.

All that said, I would still say it was sort of watchable. EXCEPT for the ending. Honestly, William Shatner talking a robot into initiating a self-destruct procedure might have been passable back then…. that’s like REALLY REALLY OLD! Something like that – today – is just super lame.

The makers saved the worst for the last. The final scene might make no sense at all, but I am sure that at least SOME eyebrows will be raised.

Why Won't You Get An Increment

A while back had this talk with one of my colleagues. The complaint - she is not happy with her salary. I usually have standard replies to such statements - WHO IS?.

I told her that even if her salary was hiked 100%, in a few months she would be complaining that it's not enough either. Basic human tendency. She prefers to call it 'being ambitious'. Well it's a better choice of words.

Same question for everything - How much is enough?
Same answer for everything  - Just a little more.

When she stood there and didn't seem to be leaving, I figured she was expecting an explanation as to why she isn't getting an increment. I hate to disappoint people. There is no reason why one can't be civil. So I explained - "you are not doing anything that is considered useful by anyone who matters". Ouch!

Look, I can be civil and all but I can't lie. If you want sugar coated nonsense just to feel better - go elsewhere. Prayer meetings might help (if you don't consider yourself beyond redemption - yet). If you want the truth well this is it.

Talk went on a bit about why the boss manages a raise for himself but not for her? That was easily answered:

"When YOU go to ask for a raise, do YOU ask for an increment for the entire department? Do YOU ask for an increment for the secretary, hike in the tea boy's salary, for the office boy, for the security guard.. OR do YOU just ask for a hike for yourself?" - QED

She walks away.

hmm I think she likes me even less now.

Thinking - next time if she asks me - I will just say - How the hell should I know. OR more appropriately - Shit Happens.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

My review is going to be different from some others, simply because most of the people I know – who have reviewed this movie – have never read the comic(s) – so of course they have a different take on the movie.

The story – err.. sorry – no story. Seriously lacking logic. Just total crap. Direction should have been better.

I did enjoy the action sequences, but the claws, err.. in some scenes they looked a bit too fake. Yeah yeah.. I know they are fake – all the more reason for them NOT TO LOOK IT.

Disappointed. Perhaps wouldn’t have been so disappointed if I hadn’t bothered with the comics.

Deadpool – They really messed up the character. For the love of god, WHY?

Gambit is a hell lot cooler in the comics.

Hugh Jackman – Good job, as always. No complaints.

Watchable, but.. err.. well you get the point.

Microsoft Loses It - Again

I am beginning to think that the guys at Microsoft have completely gone cukoo. This is suicidal. the Genuine Advantage crap was bad. Then came Vista and we all know about that. Then there was this issue of Windows 7 RC1 restarting the PC on it's own. They launched a new search engine which might be good or great or whatever - but decided to call it 'BING'

And now.. this is the limits. They don't want to use terms like Netbook / Smartbook. Instead, they want to call it Low Cost Small Notebook PCs!!!!!!!No this is NOT a joke.

Ryanair boss, Michael O'Leary, insisted today that it will cost passengers a pound to spend a penny as he confirmed plans to charge for toilets on his aeroplanes within two years.

The chief executive of Europe's largest budget carrier said the airline would also generate extra revenues by removing two out of the three toilets on its Boeing 737-800 jets and filling the space with up to six seats.

A somewhat disturbing comment for Michael O'Leary:

Asked if he would be interested in charging £5 a toilet visit in order to eliminate the need for the loo altogether, he said: "If someone wanted to pay £5 to go to the toilet I would carry them myself. I would wipe their bums for a fiver."

I know these are hard times.. but - come on!

Air I Breathe

Andy Garcia was good to watch. The rest of the movie was rather lame. Not my type. Waste of time. Seemed longer than it actually was.

Forest Whitaker sucks. Always has. Well not always. Sometimes I don’t mind watching him (Last King of Scotland). Other times, I just can’t tolerate him. I have always found Sarah Michelle Gellar – boring. This movie does nothing to change that view.

So you forgot where you parked your car - AGAIN. Well here is a pocket GPS which will help you find it. PROVIDED - when you parked your car, you had the sense to save that location onto your new fancy GPS Key Chain. Will you be getting a satellite signal in a covered parking lot? What if you found a space in Basement 2? Some important questions which were left unanswered when someone came up with this concept.

Of course, it's a GPS device, so it's use is not limited to just finding your car. You save any location and then the GPS guides you back to it. It's not like you punch in a location or an address and it gives you the directions. It doesn't find new places, it just takes you back to where you have already been. Might sound useful to some. I think it's crap.

The Mentalist

Started off with this new show. Watched the first four episodes, so far. Interesting. Enjoyable.

I have never really liked Robin Tunney. It's not just that she is boring. I find her rather annoying, and it's not just the character(s) she is playing. Have no idea how she manages to get on so many shows.

Punisher: War Zone

After watching an animation and then an Adam Sandler movie, I am sure you would understand why I needed to watch something like this.

Well, I loved comic books when I was a kid. I still like some of them. The Punisher - unfortunately never appealed much to me. For me - he was like a Batman wannabe.

Like I was saying - Punisher never was one of my favourite characters, but he wasn't as lame as Ray Stevenson is in the movie. Not happening.

What made it even worse for me is - I really enjoyed watching Ray in the tele-series Rome. Watching him being lame as the Punisher after that (Titus Pullo) was all the more disappointing.

I did like some of the action sequences though. E.g. Punch to the face or rather punch THROUGH the head. That was good. Also the gun shot right to the head while Colin Salmon is trying to cuff the guy - nice!

Yeah, was in a crappy mood over the weekend. Tried watching a comedy movie, and then an animation. Didn't make me feel any better, but this was a good way to waste some time.

It's an Adam Sandler movie, so I guess that pretty much tells you what to expect. Time pass. Not bad.
