Phir Mile Sur

Finally got around to watching the 'Phir Mile Sur'. All this talk/fuss about the damn video. Wanted to see what I was missing.

Apparently Deepika Padukone has pissed off a lot of people with her outfit in the song. I too am upset about the outfit. Doesn't do justice to her. She can look a hell lot better.

Wondering why nothing was mentioned about Salman Khan deciding to show up shirtless and in his ripped jeans for a patriotic video. Anyway, I thought the part with the sign language was nice (personal view).

What I liked about the video (apart from the sign language thing) was - Amitabh Bachchan - of course.

What I didn't like.... well:

- The composition should have been better. Me thinks - in the process of 'jazzing it up' they fucked it, big time.

- Sonu Nigam's part was horrid. I don't mean just his look (hell, even Junior Bachchan shaved for the video!).

• The people surrounding him - one guy in the background is bobbing his head as if he is judging a talent show.
• There are two or three guys who look completely lost and are trying really hard not to stare at the camera (looks bad, seriously)
• I am pretty sure I saw one guy turning around - as if telling someone to stop pushing (at least seemed like that).

- Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, SRK, Priyanka Chopra - too filmy. This isn't a romantic song sequence being shot -COME ON!

- Shahid Kapoor - Rock Star?? - WTF!!

- SRK - ‘aa gale lag jaa’ again and again and again. BAS KAR YAAR!

It would definitely have been better if they shot the video with fewer bollywood personalities. Personally, I think a video like this should be made with more of the common people bonding and making SUR HUMAARA rather than actors / celebrities.
