Sania-Shoaib
Ladka raazi, Ladki raazi. In this case, even the family is raazi. To bhai, baaki sab ko kya pareshaani hai? Baigaane ki shaadi mein abdullah diwaana.
Apparently it’s not Sania’s decision who she spends the rest of her life with. India TV and Star News will decide who she should marry. Rakhi Ka Swayamvar then Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jaayega and now Sania Ki Shaadi.
Padhe likhe jaahil log. Koi aur kaam nahin hai kya?
Chuck the media. Pointless talking about those morons, but the people! Hell, guys I have known for years, my good friends – even THEY are expressing their disappointment! Ha!
One of them can’t decide which car he should buy for himself. Another one isn’t too sure which mobile is good for him. Yet another one can’t decide which Rum he likes better - BUT when it comes to Sania and Shoaib – boy do these guys know stuff!
They all feel it’s their obligation to tell Sania how to live her life. Somehow they have concluded that she is national property and these guys being Indians have all the right to tell her what she should or should not do.
Would actually be of some use if they could have the same conviction at least when it comes to making the most trivial decisions pertaining to their own lives. Would save me a lot of effort and time.
If she is not happy with her marriage to Shoaib, she will get a divorce or walk out or whatever - like thousands of other individuals do, when they don’t want to carry on with a relationship. If and when that happens, that too will be Sania and Shoaib’s personal matter. Don’t really see why it has to be made into an issue.
She is Hindi, He is Paki.. hmm. Hope a kind hearted government head of some country comes up and gives Sania an option to acquire the citizenship of his country. I really do.
This is Shoaib’s first marriage or twentieth - how is this your concern? Wo jaane aure Sania jaane. It’s her problem not India’s problem. If Sania doesn’t seem to have a problem with it, then why should anyone else? If she does have a problem with it, she is the one who has to deal with it. There is absolutely no need for you to fly to Hyderabad and sort it out for her. As hard as you may find this to believe, people are capable of making their own decisions.
Where will she live after marriage – Kyon bhai? Aap ne uss ke ghar ka rent bharna hai?
Will she play tennis for India or Pakistan? I don’t think she ever did play that well for people to be so worried about it. You won’t let her decide who she wants to marry, obviously you won’t let her decide which country she should play for. Pointless to suggest if you would even let her decide if she wants to play anymore or not.
Sania marrying Shoaib is a disgrace / shame for India ?!!!? NO IT’s NOT. Idiots who hold such views are a disgrace to human beings. Not just India. Let people live their own lives. If she is happy, good for her. If she isn’t – it’s HER PROBLEM. Not anyone else’s.
Jahaalat ki bhi hadh hoti hai.

14 Opinions:
Relax bud.
Really, everyone has an opinion... and wants others to think they're right.
I really don't care what she is upto, but I was kinda shocked when she I heard she broke off her marriage.
Now when you realize that she fell in love with another man after being engaged... "thats something to worry about".
Hey Agnel,
How are you doing? All cool?
She fell in love with another man after being engaged .. " thats something to worry about" - really? It is??
This is something to worry about and is of national interest so not only should it be on on the news channels all day, but people should write in letters and text messages and discuss what's happening and what's the best way to handle the situation.
I am SHOCKED that it's not being debated in the parliament. OMG. This is something to worry about!!
Seriously.. IS THIS the first time a girl is calling off an engagement? Is this the first break up in history? You are worried about her breaking off an engagement but Haven't we read stories about extra-marital affairs? Don't you know of anyone around you who has cheated on his GF/BF/Spouse? Look around Agnel, it's really not THAT rare.
Agnel.. Did we get SHOCKED or did we worry when Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt broke up?
OR .. err. do we reserve our SHOCKS and WORRIES only for Indians?
Fine, So.. did we get SHOCKED and WORRIED when Kareena Kapoor broke up with Shahid Kapoor and went around with Saif Khan who was leaving his wife and dating Rosa.. and then left Rosa and started dating Kareena?
Did we get SHOCKED and WORRIED when Karisma Kapoor decided NOT to get hooked with Abhishek Bachchan?
Did we get SHOCKED and WORRIED when Aamir Khan divorced Reena Dutta and then hooked up with Kiran Rao?
Nahin na!
You were SHOCKED when you heard she called off the engagement.. hmmm Err.. WHY?
Is there something SHOCKING about this?
- Are you a personal friend of Sania Mirza OR you thought you knew her well enough and never thought she would do such a thing?
- Are you a personal friend of Sohrab and feel bad for the guy? Did you go and give him a shoulder to cry on?
- Are you even sure Sohrab DOES feel bad about the relationship ending? (I am not saying he doesn't but given that I don't know the guy or Sania or Shoaib - I really don't see WHY or HOW I can have any feelings about the issue).
May be I am more emotionally bankrupt than previously believed to be. BUT how can I feel for someone I don't know or don't care about.
You read in the paper about some XYZ having an accident on the road.
- Some read along and flip the page, moving to the next headline.
- Some will shake their head and move on.
- Some just might say a small prayer for the departed soul and then move on.
The person who DOES know the victim - of course, he will be SHOCKED and SHATTERED and WORRIED and all that.
The others... well not so much. Me.. definitely not.
I am pretty sure that there might be some GOOD kind hearted people who would be more concerned about the victim and his family and will forget everything else, while they attend and help out the grieving family.
I just don't think there would be so many of them.
But throw in a celebrity in ANY issue.. and the entire nation is up and ready with opinions. All of a sudden EVERYONE knows not only what the celebrity should do.. but everyone has become a fortune teller as well and is predicting the future, not only for the celebrity but for the entire nation.
If Sania gets married to Shoaib, the world as we know it will come to an end. The skies will fall. India will be tainted for the rest of time! What the fuck!!!!!!!!!
I have enough problems of my own, and enough problems around me. I believe THOSE merit more attention simply because for SOME of them I might be able to actually do something to sort them out.
I don't see how me getting SHOCKED or WORRIED or hosting television debates is going to help Sania or Shoaib or Sohrab or the rest of the country that for some stupid reason is feeling ashamed/disgraced. (jaahilon ki kammi nahin hai)
In other words, and perhaps this is selfish or whatever - I will save my concern for myself and someone I know, as opposed to poking my nose in some over-rated celebrity's personal life with the excuse that I am SHOCKED and WORRIED that she reacted this way or she did so and so.
Pal, please cool down.
I'm doing well :), hope you're doing good :D
I said I was shocked, when I heard that a muslim girl broke off after her engagement with a man she knew since childhood. Usually I perceive muslims to be highly spiritual and they stick to their book. So, to me a muslim woman doing such a thing was shocking. Since, my beliefs were broken. Not that I'm directly affected.
It is true that such things does happen, often... and it doesn't affect us.. but when I realize that we gotta live in such a world where we can't even trust people to love and live, then it is shocking to realize this hard truth.
I mean, you believe in a woman, love her expecting her to love you, then after a few months you find that she is in love with another man and is ready to break up with you or divorce you. Isn't marriage supposed to give you a secure feeling?
My shock is the realization that people are getting too insensitive these days and only giving in to their selfish pleasure without thinking how they'd hurt another person(who they're supposed to love and not hurt).
Hey Agnel,
I am doing good too. Well sort of.
Gham e hasti ka assad kiss se ho juz-marg ilaaj.
Shamma har rang mein jalti hai sahar hone tak.
About cooling down, trust me, I am cool and calm. Sorry if the posts seem too loud or anything. No offence, mate. Honest.
Will get back to your last comment in just a bit. First let me clear off something.
My problem is with the hype being given to the matter just because a celebrity is involved. I am NOT a Sania Mirza fan. I don't think she plays well. I honestly don't think she looks THAT good either.
As far as celebrities are concerned, I hate it when their personal lives generate so much interest. Certain amount of curiosity is to be expected and understandable, but at times it goes way overboard. This is one of those (several) cases.
My interest in Sachin Tendulkar or Saurav Ganguly is limited to their performance in cricket. I don't care how they are in their personal lives. If they are good people - GREAT. if they are not - hardly makes a fuck of a difference to me. It really doesn't effect me what they did last evening or where they went for their honeymoon.
I don't care how good a person SRK is in his personal life. It's irrelevant. I don't like his acting and that's all I am concerned with. He could be the best human being in the universe, but that doesn't change the fact that in my view his performances suck.
I don't care if Aamir Khan was a smuggler, hooligan, extortionist in his real life. I enjoy watching his performances and that's that. (all baring Ghajini of course).
I do follow some celebrities on twitter. That's NOT to get a peek into their personal lives, but ONLY to get a peek at the pics they might put up. Kim Kardashian puts up some very interesting pics of hers.
Now getting back to your last comment.
I mean, you believe in a woman, love her expecting her to love you, then after a few months you find that she is in love with another man and is ready to break up with you or divorce you.
My shock is the realization that people are getting too insensitive these days and only giving in to their selfish pleasure without thinking how they'd hurt another person(who they're supposed to love and not hurt)
Is Sania's the first case you have encountered where someone has hurt someone they love?
I am sure it would have happened in your own life too. I hope it doesn't happen again .. but the fact is that it does. AND IT SUCKS.
BUT just because Sania is a celebrity (god alone knows why) there seems to be so much of hype.
Isn't marriage supposed to give you a secure feeling?
My views on marriage are rather well documented on this blog itself and on almost every forum I have bothered to post in.
I don't see any reason to get into that all over again.
But.. I will say this. LOVE doesn't mean the same for everyone. Same way MARRIAGE doesn't mean the same to everyone either.
It's true and you know it.
and it doesn't affect us.. but when I realize that we gotta live in such a world where we can't even trust people to love and live, then it is shocking to realize this hard truth.
With the frequency of all this shit happening around us, to people we actually know, I am pretty sure that the shock value is already reduced significantly.
It's heartbreaking.. but then the Truth usually is.
I don't see why it should be MORE SHOCKING when there is a celeb involved.
when I heard that a muslim girl broke off after her engagement with a man
Agnel, my friend.. I have a lot of respect for you. I really do. I do implore you NOT to generalise.
Don't generalise women.
Don't generalise people just because they belong to a particular nationality and PLEASE don't generalise people because they are from a certain religion.
The stereotyping and generalisation has led to enough problems already. I don't see any reason why an intelligent person like yourself should contribute further to the cesspool.
Muslim women do get divorced you know. It's NOT unheard of. And it truly isn't that rare a phenomenon.
Just because it's a muslim girl, does it mean that she should continue in a relationship where she isn't happy? (for whatever reason)
I don't know the reasons for her ending the matters with Sohrab. Frankly speaking, neither do you or India TV or Star News.
May be she just got bored.
May be she enjoys sex with Shoaib more.
May be she opted for Shoaib because he has more of a celebrity status that Sohrab.
May be she is a gold digger.
May be she is a bad person who enjoys hurting people.
May be Sohrab is a prick.
Could be a million reasons. We can just speculate. Simply because we don't know Sohrab. Neither do we know Sania. We don't know either one of them on a personal level to be aware of the reasons why she ended the relationship.
All that said... it's Sania who is in a relationship and whatever she does or doesn't do in that relationship is upto her. It shouldn't be of this much significance to any party that is not involved in the relationship.
In this case, the parties involved are Sohrab, Sania, Shoaib and their respective families.
Not the tennis fans or people who jerk off to Sania's pics or India TV or Star News or Me or You.
It's really that simple.
You read the headline.. chuckle or sigh.. and move on. You don't make it an issue.
May be I'm generalizing. I really don't know... I've started to doubt everything.
i've seen really nice people who are very strong believers in their religion. It is quite natural to believe they'll be good people.
I don't know.. maybe these topics are too sensitive for me.. I should just avoid it.
Agnel,
BELIEF in religion is rather a tricky concept. Let's not get into the religion bit of the argument.
There is rarely anything good that comes out of it.
These topics are sensitive. Yes. When you do know the individual on a personal level - you are bound to have your reservations. Because YOU DO KNOW what the person is like.
There is a higher probability of you being aware of what led to certain events.
In THAT case, you form an opinion based on FACTS.
Forming an opinion based on media reports about a celebrity's personal life.. well that's just being naive.
The media is biased even when reporting ACTUAL news stories. You can very well imagine what they would be doing with a story relating to a celebrity's personal life.
At the end of the day, it's Sania's life. I don't see any reason why anyone else should have a say in it.
If she is happy, good for her. If she isn't.. she will deal with it, the best way she knows how to.
It's Agnel's life. He is the one who has to live it. Not anyone else.
If he takes wrong decisions Agnel suffers. If he takes right decisions, Agnel is happy.
Your friends and family can help you and advise you when you are making your decisions, but it's upto you to decide what to do, what to listen to and what to discard.
You can be civil and listen to the advise they are shelling out. BUT IMAGINE THIS.. someone you haven't even heard of is going on telling you that what you are doing is wrong.
This person doesn't know who Agnel is. He doesn't know the reasons that led you in this situation. This person has no clue what are the other factors affecting your decision.
Do you think it's right for this person to poke his nose in your affairs?
Hi.......sanias religion does not dictate her choices coz if it did she wouldnt be wearing micro minis on the tennis court......we use religion only to the point where its convinient!!
,that argument is B%^% $%%%!!
in which case all parties are muslims so all need to be making very morally right choices, and apparently some parties are not......its a lost cause and dont waste ur time, just change the channel......
pride
Taaliyaan for Pride.
:)
