IndiGo Bars Kids Below 12 From Premium Seats

NEW DELHI: If you are flyingIndiGo with children under 12 years of age, then the extra leg room seats are out of bounds for you. The low cost carrier has termed seats in rows 1-4 and 11-14 as "quiet zones" and passengers travelling with young children, or unaccompanied minors, cannot pre-book them by paying extra for these premium seats.

Excellent move! Of course, as with most brilliant ideas, there is an OUTRAGE from pretty much every corner. Sigh…

One somewhat legitimate ‘concern’ brought up: A senior Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) official said: "Won't premium row passengers be disturbed by children crying in rear rows? We will examine this policy of IndiGo."

Yes. It would be annoying and disturbing, but we can’t throw them off the plane, now can we? At least here is an attempt to make it a bit LESS disturbing. Are you incapable of understanding that?

Wish all the airlines would adopt a similar policy (and also introduce some sort of screening procedure before allowing one to book a business class / first class seat).
